TE 'A' ME TE 'O'

These small particles of speech demonstrate the relationship between two things, and over the years language experts have released relevant resources to explain 'a' and 'o' in the hope that learners will grasp this unique aspect of the Māori language. Still, there are those words that learners continue to question whether 'a' or 'o' is the correct particle to be used next to those words.

In 2016, Te Haumihiata Mason, Hēni Jacob, Leon Heketū Blake, Pānia Papa, and Kārena Kelly came together to deliberate over possible answers to those questions.
